Aims of the project
The main aim of the project is building of human and material capacity in the Institute of Botany of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IB-BAS) for research, assessing, monitoring, and predicting changes in habitats, plant and fungi diversity in Bulgaria, as well as understanding the ecosystems structure, functions and dynamics.

Specific aims of the project:
- To mobilize and build human and technological capacity in IB-BAS to carry out scientific research in accordance to European standards.
- To improve the transfer of knowledge, techniques and experience between IB-BAS and other national and foreign centers and foster the development of joint programmes and activities.
- To enhance the communication and build trust between IB-BAS and the biodiversity stakeholders in Bulgaria for effective exploitation of scientific information for the purposes of political and socio-economic needs of the country.
- To develop mechanisms for effective dissemination of scientific knowledge, thus providing basis for biodiversity concerned society in Bulgaria.
